Description:
Golden cypress has drooping branches filled with scale-like foliage that resembles long threads. The foliage lights up the garden with its bright golden-green, almost chartreuse, color. As with other conifers, this shrub does not produce flowers but will produce small round cones. Golden cypress is a slow-growing plant that can take 20 years to reach its mature size.
Grow your potted cypress in well-draining, sandy/loamy soil. To amend soil, use peat, up to a 50 percent mixture. Place the plant in an area that receives morning sun and light shade in the afternoon. Water your potted cypress deeply, and keep the soil moist.
